The Chemikal Stuff is an Indie/Alt Rock duo from the UK, built around the soulful grit of Mark Jones (vocals) and the multi‑layered musicianship of Naith Lloyd (guitars, bass, synth). Their sound lives in the crossroads — folk warmth, bluesy edges, rock backbone, and electronic shimmer — all stitched together with lyrical depth and a real analog heartbeat.
Their debut single, “Cosmic Woman” (late 2025), didn't just introduce them — it announced them, taking 1st place in Round 1 of the Freecords.com Indie Artist Contest. They followed it with “Christmas Eve,” another contest‑winning track that cemented their momentum and proved they weren't a one‑song spark but a duo with staying power.
Mark Jones — Lead Vocals
Mark brings a voice shaped by Welsh roots, lived experience, and a lifetime of performing. Before The Chemikal Stuff, he fronted the independent Essex band Wasteland, co‑writing and shaping their sound. He's also spent years as a professional Elvis impersonator, carrying that silky, theatrical tone into his own music. Beyond the mic, Mark is a skilled visual artist — his commissioned work lives on canvases, walls, and even tattooed skin (Naith included).
Naith Lloyd — Guitars, Bass & Synth
A self‑taught musician who started on electronic organ three decades ago, Naith builds the sonic world around Mark's voice. His guitar and bass lines bring warmth and grit, while his synth work adds atmosphere and depth. Folk, rock, blues, electronic — he blends it all into a soundscape that feels lived‑in and unmistakably theirs.
Together, Mark and Naith aren't just writing songs — they're building a community, a place where storytelling, honesty, and connection matter as much as the music itself.
