Mama Chill grew up writing songs young and gravitated toward Rap, Hip-Hop, and Black American Gospel long before those sounds were welcomed in her environment. Even when others didn’t understand it, she kept developing her flow, her delivery, and her own Stateside‑leaning vocal style that became her signature.

MAMA’s songwriting ability gained early recognition, becoming runner‑up in the Smash Hits competition at seventeen and later winning the Write a Song for Victoria Beckham contest on Richard & Judy out of 5,000 entries.

Just as major labels began showing interest, Mama was hit with M.E., followed by ADHD, Fibromyalgia, and Osteoporosis. Even bed‑bound, she refused to quit—recording a rough demo album on a 4‑track balanced on her lap.

She continued building her catalogue with a mix of singer‑songwriter material and Hip-Hop‑driven work, eventually releasing her studio album Nobody Wants To Know Ya When Ya Nobody, followed by an EP and several singles.

Across the years she’s pushed through setbacks, taught herself production, and now creates her music independently—writing, recording, and producing with a focus on honesty, storytelling, and lived experience. Her sound blends raw Hip-Hop roots with melodic songwriting, shaped by decades of studying the genre and refusing to compromise her identity.

Integrity is central to Mama Chill and to everything she does. She stepped away from all streaming platforms and YouTube, choosing to release her work only through spaces that respect artists. Like The INDIE Musician Hub and I am Proud to have her.

“If you want the real Mama Chill - The Hub is the only place to find her”
